Mehdiabad Mine’s execution operations as well as constructing lead and zinc plants were officially launched in a celebration participated by Industry, Mining and Trade Minister Nematzadeh and Deputy and IMIDRO Director Kalbasian and Yazd Governor Mir Mohammadi along with other authorities on national and province level in the Mining site.

Since March 2017, after having received the contract, the investing partnership of the Mine took action to equip the mining site, where mining machinery required to mine 30 million tons of minerals have been settled initiating the process of launching execution operations and constructing the plants. Today we can celebrate the launch in the presence of Industry, Mining and Trade Minister Nematzadeh and Deputy and IMIDRO Director Kalbasian and Yazd Governor Mir Mohammadi along with other authorities on national and province level.

The first year of contract is called progress period, dedicated to engineering studies and obtaining permits for the transfer of infrastructures while early stripping is being performed and then in a 3-year period, called construction period, processing plants will be constructed.

Therefore, based on contract, the investor should construct the plants in 4 years but according to the plans submitted by the investor and if infrastructures required are provided, the first phase of plants will be run by 1398 (2019), being able to produce 200 thousand tons of zinc concentrates in the Complex.

Construction of Mehdiabad Mining Plants will provide Iran with the opportunity to enter lead and zinc world markets as a significant player as well as the national sustainable entrepreneurship and provision for producers.

By launching all phases of plants construction, production capacity of plants will reach 800 thousand tons of zinc concentrates with carat of min. 35% as a main product and lead-silver concentrate as a side product.
