MP Saberaghian Note on Yazd’s Mahdiabad Lead-Zinc Mining Complex

A representative of the people of Abarkuh, Bafq, Bahabad, Khatam and Mehriz in the Islamic Consultative Assembly published a memorandum titled "Transformation in Yazd" about the opening of the lead and zinc complex and the Baritat Mahdi Abad as the largest mine and lead barite in the Middle East in Yazd province.

Yesterday, we witnessed the cofferdaming and implementation of the Mahdi Abad mine project as the largest lead and zinc mine in Iran, and the second largest lead-and-zinc mine in the world after Australia. The launch of this mine alone could have a major transformation in the economic development of Yazd province, especially Mehriz.

Of course, the mine has been on the agenda for many years and it has been assigned to several private sectors several times, which, unfortunately, did not have the capital and the ability to extract and exploit this large project, until this year, Powerful privilege was delegated. I think that since the Mahdi mine will have just 1,000 direct jobs and 4,000 jobs indirectly, and in particular, factories are set to be built next to it, it will be a great future for Yazd and Mehriz.

One important point is that the project implementer is committed to implementing 25% of the work during the first two years during the first phase, due to the beginning of the mine and its good progress, it is expected that this phase will be operational by next February. Which will include investment in the Concentrated Factory that will be in production.

The job creation is related to the fact that now about 180 people are working and will nearly double by the end of the year, and over the next four years, a thousand direct people and 4,000 indirect people will work in the mine and its related industries. Became
