Lead & Zinc Mine of Mehdiabad Investor Decided, Concluding a Fierce Competition

According to Mehdiabad Mine's Public Relations:

With the finalization of Mehdiabad Zinc and Lead Mine's international tender for attracting investors and coinciding with Imam Reza's Birthday and Government Week, a consortium consisting of Mobin Mining and Construction Company, Kahanroba Engineering Company, Iran Lead and Zinc Industries and Mine Associations, Aria Jonoub Iranian, Sarmak and Lead Mines were elected as the winner.

In this respect, the winning company is obligated to take prompt action regarding the submission of Good Performance Guarantee and entering into contract as well as equipping the site for the commencement of mine waste removal operation.

۱۸۰ million tons of waste removal and construction of processing factories for 800000 tons of lead-silver concentrate having grade of 35% is on the agenda for the first 4 years.

According to the contract which is to last 24 years, the winning consortium must in the first year, in addition to commencement of waste removal and mining operations, take necessary action to obtain the required permits and conduct processing studies and etc., and after a 3-year period of Construction processing plants, start the commercial operation in the following 20-year period.

It is worth mentioning that, the mentioned tender was officially started on Jan 22, 2016 with the presence of thirteen Iranian and foreign consortium. The consortiums in the first and second steps were subjected to technical and commercial evaluations. Finally, on Aug 15, 2016, the bidding documents were opened, and the mentioned consortium was announced as the winner of the tender with the highest offer.
