Mehdiabad Mine Barite Production Rises by 18%

Mehdiabad Mine barite production rate in the first 7 months of the current Iranian calendar year rose by 18%.

According to IMIDRO PR, Mehdiabad Lead and Zinc and Barite Mining Complex has produced 526,916 tons of barite from the first month through to the end of seventh month of the current Iranian year. The figure for last year was 445,960 tons.

Also, the production of the complex in the mentioned period has increased by 68 percent of the plans (313 thousand tons).

In the seventh month of the year, Mehdiabad Mine Complex produced 64,629 tons of barite, which is 14 percent higher than the same period last year (56,914 tons).

Barite is mainly consumed in oil and gas industries as well as in cable production, plastic manufacturing, Caocho production and processing, ceramic manufacturing, drilling mud production, papers, transparent glasses, chineses production, beauty products, white ink and correction fluid, waterproof clothes, brake pedals, automobile, vacuum pipes, fireworks, anti-rays floerecengt lamps, pharmaceuticals and medical purposes.

Mehdiabad Lead and Zinc and Barite Mine Complex is located 75 kilometers away from Mahriz, in Yazd province.
