Middle East’s Largest Lead Mine Operations Launched in Mehriz

 

Operations in Mahdi Abad Mehriz were launched by the Minister of Industry, Mine and Commerce, the largest lead and zinc mine and barite in the Middle East.

Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, acting in the first day of his one-day trip, attended Mehdi Abad Mehriz, the executive operation of the largest mine-lead and zinc barite and Middle East.

The mine is located 116 kilometers south-east of Yazd city and holds 161 million and 761 thousand and 978 tons of lead and zinc, which is considered unique in its kind.

The lead in the mine is two and three tenths and a grade of seven to three tenths of the grade, which is one of the most remarkable characteristics of this mine compared to other lead and zinc mines.

In this mine, 10, 144, 803 tons of barite are stored, which starts with a specific weight of 3 and 6 tons from today as its operational operations.

From the mine, whose contract for the implementation of the project includes the dumping and preparation of 185 million tons in 5 years, and the construction of a unit of concentrate 800 thousand tons of zinc with a grade of 35 percent, annually 400 thousand tons of barite and one thousand and 200 tons of lead and zinc .
